Ávus is a music project that grew into a tour and eventually became a band.
The band consists of Inga Máret Gaup Juuso, Jonas Knutsson, Jörgen Stenberg, Mikael Emsing, and Andreas Estensen. Electronic soundscapes, Sámi joik, improvisation and jazz-influenced textures meet in music shaped by space, movement and northern resonance.
In the spring of 2025, AVUS toured in Norrbotten and Västerbotten. During the summer and autumn, the band also performed at venues and festivals in Markomeannu, Kiruna, and Piteå. Their debut album is scheduled for release in summer 2026.
